CASA for seven years awarded the unsung CASA hero for the year 2015. Spent 18 yrs. on active and reserve duty in the United States Navy while raising, with my husband of thirty-six years, four very successful children.  Substitute teacher along the coast for nearly 10 years; volunteered through my church to feed Katrina volunteers for 18 months.  I also worked extensively with various church children’s programs.

When my children were young, I was very involved in their school. I was also a cub scout leader, t-ball coach, and taught Religious Education classes at St. Thomas. I worked in the Long Beach School District for fifteen years. During that time, I worked in self contained special education classes in the elementary school and the high school. I also worked for the Autism Program in Long Beach. I have always enjoyed working with children, so when I learned about CASA, I knew this would be the perfect place for me to volunteer.
